As a prelude to Carnegie Hall’s new season, children and their caregivers can experience a joyful musical adventure with Brown Rice Family at this free, interactive performance that invite kids ages 3–10 and grownups to sing, dance, and celebrate together. With its infectious spirit, Brown Rice Family performs an irresistible mix of reggae, hip-hop, dancehall, Afrobeat, jazz, Latin, and funk music at two back-to-back performances in Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing.

OPENING NIGHT GALA

Conductor Daniel Harding leads the NYO-USA All-Stars, an ensemble of exceptional and highly accomplished musicians who have taken part in Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), in Carnegie Hall’s Opening Night Gala concert. The celebratory program includes selections from Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite (1919 version), and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1with soloist Yuja Wang leading from the keyboard.

This concert will be heard by listeners around the world as part of the Carnegie Hall Live broadcast and digital series. Produced by WQXR and Carnegie Hall, and co-hosted by WQXR’s Jeff Spurgeon and WNYC’s John Schaefer, the concert will be broadcast on WQXR 105.9 FM in New York and streamed online at wqxr.org and carnegiehall.org/wqxr.

Winner of the 2025 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical in Broadway’s smash hit, Sunset BoulevardNicole Scherzinger makes her much anticipated Carnegie Hall debut. The former lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls will be joined by a live band as she performs hits from the worlds of Broadway and pop.

ISRAEL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra returns for three concerts with Music Director Lahav Shani, all featuring music by Israeli composer Paul Ben-Haim paired with Tchaikovsky symphonies. On the first program, Pinchas Zukerman plays the Hall’s first-ever performance of Ben-Haim’s Violin Concerto alongside Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4. The following evening’s program includes Bernstein’s Halil(which the IPO premiered in 1981 under Bernstein’s own baton), Ben-Haim’s Symphony No. 1 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. For the final evening, the orchestra performs Ben-Haim’s Symphony No. 2 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, “Pathétique.”

THE MET ORCHESTRA CHAMBER ENSEMBLE

The Met Orchestra Chamber Ensemble presents an all-Mozart program featuring Yannick Nézet-Séguin—music director and conductor of The Met Orchestra—as pianist and conductor. The performance will include Mozart’s Piano Concerto No, 12 in A Major, K. 414; and Serenade in B-flat Major for 13 Winds, K. 361, “Gran Partita.”

The Sphinx Virtuosi, a chamber orchestra comprised of alumni of the renowned Sphinx Competition, returns to Carnegie Hall in a program featuring cellist Sterling Elliott. The evening includes the New York premiere of Quenton Xavier Blache’s Visions of Peace (co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall); Clarice Assad’s “Precision: Perpetual Motion” from Impressions; the New York premiere of Still’s Suite for Violin and Orchestra (arr. for cello and orchestra by Randall Goosby); Ginastera’s Finale furioso from Concerto for Strings, Op. 33; and more.

WELL-BEING CONCERT: ANNIE WU

Flutist and creative storyteller Annie Wu leads a Well-Being Concert, presented by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute. Titled “Not Too Sweet,” the program combines exquisite selections by Fauré, Sibelius, Dvořák, and more with candid storytelling that encourages audiences to reflect on life’s turning points. Like a perfect dessert, this delicate blend of bitter and sweet evokes powerful memories and offers a sense of community. Enjoy this latest project from an artist known for exploring the narrative possibilities of music across mediums—including the literary and culinary.

Austrian pianist Kiron Atom Tellian—one of two winners of the 2024 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions—offers a program to include selected etudes by Chopin and Scriabin; Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 2 (a highlight of Tellian’s winning audition), and Robert Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes.

BELCEA QUARTET

The Belcea Quartet returns to Carnegie Hall with Mozart’s String Quartet in C Major, K. 465,“Dissonance,” and Beethoven’s final complete opus, the String Quartet in F Major, Op. 135. Another program highlight will be the world premiere of Brett Dean’s String Quartet No, 4, “A Little Book of Prayers,” co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall.

THE KNIGHTS

The Knights return this season with a three-concert series that pushes the boundaries of classical music, led by artistic directors Colin and Eric Jacobsen. This October performance intersperses Philip Glass’s Symphony No. 3 with original poetry by prizewinning poet and multidisciplinary artist J. Mae Barizo. The program’s second half features Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 4.

ESTONIAN FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA

Carnegie Hall joins the worldwide music community in honoring visionary composer Arvo Pärt by appointing him as holder of the Hall’s Richard and Barbara Debs Composer’s Chair for the 2025–2026 season. Kicking off the season-long retrospective of his works will be two all-Pärt programs with selections spanning six decades of his compositional career, presented on consecutive evenings in October. The first features the North American debut of the Estonian Festival Orchestra, led by Artistic Director Paavo Järviand joined by violinists Midori and Hans Christian Aavik, pianist Nico Muhly, and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir. The wide-ranging program features significant early works; major works from Pärt’s game-changing tintinnabuli style; powerful 21st-century selections; and more.

The season-long retrospective of music by Carnegie Hall Debs Composer’s Chair Arvo Pärt continues when the Grammy Award-winning Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir returns for a second night, appearing with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste, presenting a program that reflects Pärt’s prolific choral output.

The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke kick off their 2025
2026 season at Carnegie Hall with vocal powerhouses Hugh Panaro and Elizabeth Stanley in a performance featuring unforgettable songs from Broadway musicals inspired by iconic films, alongside music from movie adaptations of Broadway’s greatest hits.

SEOUL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall for the first time in twenty years, led by Music Director Jaap van Zweden. For this performance, they pair two cornerstones of the orchestral repertoire—Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2 and Felix Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor featuring Bomsori Kim—with the US premiere of Inferno by South Korean composer Jung Jae-il.

ENSEMBLE CONNECT

In their first Carnegie Hall concert of the new season, Ensemble Connect performs Arvo Pärt’s Da pacem Domine and Quintettino, Janáček’s Mládí, and Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet. This performance is part of the season-long retrospective of music by Carnegie Hall Debs Composer’s Chair Arvo Pärt, presented in celebration of his 90th birthday.

Baritone Benjamin Appl presents a personal tribute to his mentor—the late Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, one of the 20th century’s greatest baritones and a beloved recitalist at Carnegie Hall—that includes songs by Fischer-Dieskau’s brother and father, plus selections by Barber, Brahms, Britten, Eisler, Grieg, Grothe, Künneke, Carl Loewe, Reimann, Sinding, Schubert, Clara Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Carl Maria von Weber, and Wolf. Appl will be joined by his recital partner, pianist James Baillieu. The evening also includes narration by acclaimed actor Peter Francis James.

PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA

The Philharmonia Orchestra celebrates the 70th anniversary of its Carnegie Hall debut with two back-to-back performances. Principal Guest Conductor Marin Alsop kicks off her Carnegie Hall Perspectives series this season with a concert to include Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 featuring Alexandre Kantorow. The following evening, Principal Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali makes his Carnegie Hall debut with Víkingur Ólafsson playing Beethoven's "Emperor" Piano Concerto, the New York premiere of a new work by Gabriela Ortiz, and Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) returns to Carnegie Hall with Mélisse Brunet leading the ensemble in a program full of world premieres including Tamar Muskal’s Square Offfor Voice and Mirror with Responsive Sculptures featuring soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon and artist Daniel Rozin, Elijah Daniel Smith’s Horizon of Closure, Mazz Swift’s Memory FIVE, and Aaron Israel Levin’s Multiverse verse chorus bridge verse chorus chorus plus the New York premiere of a new work by Raven Chacon.
