Carnegie Hall’s NYO Jazz is a jaw-droppingly talented big band comprising some of the best young jazz players from across the United States. Its performances at Carnegie Hall and major venues worldwide have been praised as “astonishing—not just technically, but stylistically” (The Telegraph).  “You could be pretty confident you were hearing some stars of tomorrow,” said London’s The Times after a concert at Royal Albert Hall. This evening, hear the band’s latest lineup in a program of timeless jazz standards and big-band gems; contemporary works that explore jazz’s influence on hip-hop, R&B, and more; a brand-new piece commissioned by Carnegie Hall; and a new arrangement from Terri Lyne Carrington’s exciting New Standards project.
