Spotlight on Japan

In November 2025, Carnegie Hall celebrates the music and culture of Japan with events that span multiple art forms and musical genres. Events at the Hall include concert performances of music from the best-selling manga series Attack on Titan; a solo recital by pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, who returns to great demand; the Carnegie Hall recital debut of international piano phenomenon Hayato Sumino, who in 2025 became OPUS KLASSIK’s first-ever double winner; and An Evening of Traditional Japanese Arts, in which today’s foremost actors, musicians, and artists explore the evolution of Noh and kabuki theater, taiko drumming, the three-stringed shamisen, and more.

Additional events at leading cultural and academic institutions extend this multifaceted exploration through dance performances, exhibitions, panel discussions, and more.
